How To Eat Sea Moss: 5 Recipes

Sea Moss Overnight Oats

Two pots of overnight oats, a high-protein sea moss recipe. Find out how to eat sea moss!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sea moss gel
  • 1/2 cup plant-based milk (almond, coconut, soy, etc.)
  • 1/2 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh fruits, nuts, or seeds for topping (optional)

Method:

  1. Soak the sea moss in a bowl of water for at least 12-24 hours until it becomes soft and expands. You may need to change the water a couple of times during soaking.
  2. Blend the soaked sea moss with 1 cup of water until it forms a smooth gel-like consistency. You can add more water if needed.
  3. In a jar or airtight container, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, sea moss gel, mashed banana, plant-based milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Stir the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Ensure that the sea moss gel is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  5. Seal the jar or container and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4-6 hours. This allows the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and soften.
  6. The next morning, give the overnight oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a bit more plant-based milk to reach your desired consistency.
  7. Top your Sea Moss Overnight Oats with fresh fruits, nuts, or seeds of your choice for added texture and flavour.
